Obituary of Colleen Nadine Festa

Colleen Nadine Festa passed away at the age of 72 on October 7th, 2025 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Colleen was born in Oakville June 30, 1953 to Frank and Janet Elinor Festa. Her early years were in Clarkson and then 5 years on the family farm between Guelph and Erin where began her love of the outdoors that she would later pass down to her sons. She grew up surrounded by her cousins, including those in the Mackenzie clan.

Later the family moved to Etobicoke/Toronto, where she graduated from Burnhamthorpe Collegiate Institute. Those teenage years saw many adventures with her friends, especially Susan, Barbara and Candace.

Later, working for Bell Canada she used her KFC map and adventurous spirit to find her way all over Ontario.

She went on to have 2 sons, Cody and Mackenzie, and moved to the Fraser Valley, British Columbia where they lived for 15 years with their pets. She travelled to Whistler, Victoria, and all over BC with her family. While living in Mission, her faith and love of community led her to get involved with the Mission Christmas Bureau – helping spearhead the Christmas Fire Truck Drive – social works, and Club K.I.D.S., which is still going strong today.

In 2006, Colleen and the boys moved to Waterloo region to be near family. She worked with her brother-in-law Steve Cambria for a number of years and then retired.

During her retired life, she spent time with friends, family and loved ones while also being involved in the church, and charities like “Out of the Cold.”

Colleen loved to cook and bake and continued to do so in spite of medical problems she suffered later in life.

Colleen took everything life threw at her, never complained, and still smiled.

She will be missed by sons Mackenzie & Cody, sister Francine, many cousins, friends, and all the lives she touched along the way.
