Obituary of Wanda Struzik
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Wanda Struzik on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at WRHN at Queen’s Blvd in Kitchener, Ontario, at the age of 74. She was surrounded by the love of her family.
Wanda is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Waldemar, her cherished daughters Sylvia (Charles) and Luiza, as well as her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Bronislawa and Antoni Gryn and her sister Irena Chojnacka.
Wanda, originally from Poland, moved to Canada from Germany in 1991 at age 40 with her husband; their daughter Sylvia joined later. The journey to a new country brought many challenges, but Wanda faced them with remarkable courage, strength, and determination.
Wanda was a woman of immense kindness and warmth, always greeting others with her radiant smile. She devoted her life to her family and took pride in creating a loving and welcoming home. Her empathy was not limited to human beings; she held a profound appreciation for nature and every living creature, showing kindness and tenderness toward animals as well.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — basking in the sunshine on her favorite balcony, enjoying a good book, or watching classic black-and-white films. A gifted cook, Wanda’s delicious meals were a source of comfort and togetherness for her family.
To her daughter Sylvia, Wanda was not only a mother but also a best friend. In the last two years of her life, as she faced health challenges, their bond grew even stronger through countless shared moments of love and support.
Wanda’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, and the warmth she brought to every room.
Wanda, we miss you, we love you, and we are lost without you.
You were the sunshine in our lives — thank you for all your love and sacrifice.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU doctors and nurses at WRHN at Queen’s Blvd (formerly St. Mary’s General Hospital) for their exceptional care and compassion.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
