Obituary of Blanche Barker

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2025 at Parkwood Suites, Waterloo. Blanche had a longtime career at Economical Insurance Company. She was a lifetime resident of Kitchener-Waterloo and a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Waterloo. Blanche was an energetic walker, an avid reader, and a lifelong lover of travel.

She is survived by her grandsons Rob Tiffin (Barbara) and their children, Micah and Suzanna; and Jeff Tiffin (Caroline) and their children, David and Lisi, all of South Carolina, USA. Blanche will be forever remembered by her nephews, nieces, extended family, and many friends, including Jim and Vikki Tait.

Predeceased by her parents Ayrton and Tina Dahmer, her husband Ed Barker (2013), her sons Gary Black (2014) and Randy Black (2023), and her siblings June Mucci, Edna Boyd, and Donald Dahmer.

Special thanks to the nurses, PSWs and all staff at Parkwood Suites, 2nd floor, for the kindness and care given to Blanche these past years.

Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, Rev. Joel Kuhl officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.
