It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Betty E. Weiler (nee Dougherty) on Thursday, November 27, 2025; in her 85th year.

Beloved wife of Clare Weiler of 62 years.

Dearly missed by her children Clare (Butch) Weiler (Karen Lochead), Ted Ross (Helen), Paul Weiler, Cheri Cabral (Armando), and Steven Weiler (Bonnie).

Mom, you are our rock, and your absence will leave a void in our lives.

Adored by her grandchildren Justin, Ellyce, Eva, Michael, Sophie, Chris, Dave, Joshua, Myranda, Braydon, Matthew, Carissa, Alyssia, Cameron, Adam, Jenna and great granddaughter Aubrey.

As the matriarch of nine siblings, she is predeceased by her parents Lena and Mac Isaiah Dougherty and sisters Heather Barton (Greg) of Beaverton, Oregon, Rheta Young (Dennis) and Kathy Lublin (Phil).

Loving sister to Charlotte McCutcheon, Barry, Ted (Cheryl), Ken, Greg (Amy) and Julie Kesselring (Ken).

A caring, loving and endlessly giving soul, she devoted her life to nurturing others. Her gentle spirit, compassion, and unwavering generosity touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She carried a quiet strength and a deep spirituality that guided her actions and inspired those around her. She offered kindness without hesitation and love without condition to family, friends and all who crossed her path. Her presence was a blessing; her impact immeasurable.

One of mom's greatest joys came later in her life when she was able to work with special needs children. Though we mourn her loss, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless ways she made the world brighter. Her love will continue to live in the hearts of all she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Special thanks to Rev. Chris Fickling, Guelph General Hospital, St. Mary's and KW/Grand River (WRHN) ICU nurses, doctors and staff.

Chi-Miigwetch to Ivy at WRHN and the Elders who provided smudging’s and a cedar cleansing to facilitate our Mom's journey to walk with her ancestors amongst the stars.

In lieu of flowers, Mom's wishes would be donations to Nutrition for Learning at a local school, or the Woodland Cultural Centre 184 Mohawk St., Brantford.
