Obituary of Janet Margaret Groff (nee Ditner)
Janet passed away on December 2, 2025, at Luther Village in Waterloo. She was a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Bill, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage, proud and devoted mother of Brian Groff (Gabriella) Rosseau, Susan Dulmage (Marc) Brantford, Sharon Burdett (Bruce) Waterloo and Shelley Sheridan of Elora. Loving grandmother of Stephen (Brianne), Drew (Melanie), Dean (Vicky) and Jaclyn (Andrew), Jessica (Tim), Michael (Natalie) and Jonathon, Scott (Courtney), Shawn, Stuart (Alexandra) and Steven (Brittany) and Mitchell (Kelsi). Proud great-grandmother to 18 beautiful great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister Joan Hyndman (Peter), her father Bud Ditner and her mother and step-father Margaret and Frank Burchett.
Janet's circle of friends and acquaintances was meaningful. She enjoyed making new friends, while always including old ones. Her love for her family and of travel, fashion, square dancing, cards and her creative talents kept her extremely busy. Her last years in Luther Village were enjoyed by singing, puzzling and special events. Thank-you to the Luther Village nursing staff and all the support workers for their wonderful care and support.
Cremation has taken place. At Janet's request, there will be no visitation. A private celebration of her life will be held by the family.
