Obituary of Merlene Janet Yandt

It is with deep sadness that Merlene’s family would like to announce her passing at the age of 92 on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

She was the beloved wife of the late Grant Yandt. Cherished mother of Scott (Shelley), Terry, and Robert (Teddy). Treasured grandmother of Leanne Flood (Barry), Danielle Mazur (Arek), Nathan Yandt (Heidi), and Keith Yandt, and great-grandmother of Wesley Flood and Shelby Yandt. Merlene is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by brothers Lorne Becker (Kathryn) and Gary Becker (Wanda).

The immediate family will gather to celebrate Merlene’s life in a very private and personal way, as per her wishes.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to WRHN @ Chicopee (formerly Freeport Hospital) would be greatly appreciated. Merlene received the most attentive and compassionate care by the team of doctors and nurses in the palliative care unit. Many, many thanks.
