Obituary of Ida Margaret Mallet

With broken hearts and eternal love, we share that our beautiful mama, Ida, has passed peacefully after many years of enduring her cancer journey with courage, grace, and unshakable strength. Though she faced tremendous pain, she carried sunshine in her soul every single day.
Ida was pure joy—light in its warmest form. She could walk into any room and brighten it instantly, welcoming everyone with open arms and an open heart. She was a soulmate to both my brother and me, and a kindred spirit to all who knew her.
She loved deeply, laughed easily, and danced whenever she could. We know that even now, she would want us to honour her by doing the same—by living better, loving harder, and choosing kindness in every moment. As difficult as it will be, we will try to do this for you, Mom.
Ida was a devoted mother and an adoring grandmother. Her grandchildren—Austin Edgar Mallet, Chloe London Mallet, and her youngest grandson, Liam Charles Plante—were the greatest joys of her life. She also held a special love for Shane Plante, Emmy’s husband, who stood by the family with unwavering compassion and support.
She leaves behind a large and loving family in Newfoundland: her siblings John, Bessie, George, Jane, Mary, Mildred/Elphage, Ron/Ernstine, Ann/Gordon, Patsy, Tom, Wayne/Leanne; and she is predeceased by Sally, Stella, Hans, Charles, and Rick. Each of them held a special place in her heart.
Ida’s warmth, strength, and compassion were immeasurable. If love alone could have saved her, she would have lived forever.
Though we wish we had more time with her, we hold onto the promise that one day we will find her again. When our own time comes, we will search for her soul so we can be together once more.

Until then, Mama, dance, laugh, and rest in peace with Dad.
We will love you forever.
