Obituary of Melissa Wendy Sugg
Melissa Sugg passed away suddenly and tragically at the age of 50 due to an aortic dissection.
Melissa leaves behind her partner Kyle Thomas, and their two beloved sons, Mark and Nicholas. She was also a caring step-mom to Hannah, Natalia, and Michael Thomas. Melissa will be forever loved and deeply missed by her parents, Mark and Wendy (Roussel) Sugg, her brother and sister-in-law Andy and Liz Sugg, and her cherished nephews, Vincent, Joe, and Sam Sugg. She is also remembered fondly by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers and friends.
Melissa’s spirit and laughter were truly infectious. She lived her life with a fabulous sense of humor, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. A proud graduate of Conestoga College, Melissa dedicated her career to nursing—her passion and calling. She was an exceptional Registered Nurse, spending most of her career at St. Mary’s General Hospital, where she was respected by colleagues and adored by patients for her kindness and skill. Her career also took her to Duke University Hospital in North Carolina and Toronto’s SickKids Hospital—achievements she was tremendously proud of.
She loved music, time at the cottage, and any moment spent surrounded by family. But more than anything, Melissa’s heart belonged to her boys. She was an extraordinary mother—supportive, fun, fiercely loving, and endlessly proud.
Melissa’s memory will forever be carried in the hearts of those who knew her. Her light, her laugh, and her love will remain with us always.
