Obituary of Steven Christopher Schmidt

Steve Schmidt (born June 8, 1967) passed away peacefully at WRHN - Midtown the morning of Monday, December 28th, 2025.

He is predeceased by his mother, Laraine Schmidt. He will be missed dearly by his children Nick and Katie (Brandon), his father Phil, his brother Kevin (Tania) and his nephew Shawn (Maranda).

Steve loved fishing and being outdoors, and cherished the summer trips to his parents’ cottage in Southampton throughout his youth. Steve also enjoyed listening to music, especially classic rock and punk rock. He was a helpful man, always willing to lend a hand in the neighbourhood and the community. He volunteered in the community garden, taught kids to skate, and he just loved helping people in general.

Special thanks to the stroke unit staff at WRHN – Midtown for the exceptional care you provided.

Cremation has taken place, and a small private memorial service will be held for immediate family at a later date.
