Obituary of James David Murakami

January 23, 1960 - December 30, 2025

James passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the age of 65, as a result of a heart attack.

James is survived by his children Ethan and Emily Murakami.

Predeceased by his wife Laura Murakami and parents Gwen and Harry Murakami.

James worked as a mechanic at Down the Road Again Automotive in Waterloo. He enjoyed attending Nascar races all over the US. He also enjoyed working on and riding sea-doos and snowmobiles whether for races or recreational. He was very adventurous with traveling.

Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Monday January 5, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral service to take place in the chapel of the funeral home following visitation at 11 a.m. Private family interment to take place at a later date.
