Obituary of Margaret Letitia Robertson (nee Henderson)

Margaret Letitia Robertson passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026.  Survived by her dearest husband Alonzo (Lon) Robertson, they were married 63 years.

Proud mother of Blake (Sue), Ian (Rebecca Kerr), and Craig (Sarah), and a deeply adored grandmother to Melissa, Rebecca, Evan, Hannah, Jack, Sam, and Tyler, who were the great joy of her life.

Predeceased by her father Alfred G. Henderson and mother M. Darlene Henderson (nee Waterhouse).  Survived by her brother Ron Henderson of Kingston, Ontario.

Margaret grew up in Waterloo, Ontario, where she attended Alexandra Public School and later Kitchener–Waterloo Collegiate Institute.  On October 6, 1962, Margaret married the love of her life, Alonzo “Lon” Robertson, in Waterloo. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and adventure.  They first made their home in London, later moving to Lethbridge, Alberta, returning to Kitchener before settling in Chippawa, Niagara Falls to raise their family.

Margaret will be forever remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother and a great friend.

Margaret dedicated her professional life to Niagara College, where she worked with pride and commitment.  Outside of work, she had a passion for travel.  She treasured the annual family vacations to Sauble Beach—memories that will be fondly remembered by all who shared them.  Above all else, Margaret’s greatest happiness came from time spent with her grandchildren.

Margaret will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life.  She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

The family thanks the dedicated staff of Luther Village on the Park, K-W Health Network and the Freeport Health Centre for their care, compassion and support.

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Flowers are welcome, in Margaret’s memory, as a fitting tribute to her love of their natural beauty.  Alternatively, donations to the Alzheimer Society are welcome.  Condolences for the family may be arranged through the funeral home at 519-745-8445 or at www.erbgood.com.
