Obituary of Sharron Lynn Irvine
With deep sorrow and enduring love, we announce the passing of Sharron Lynn Irvine, born in 1960 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Sharron was predeceased by her beloved father, David “Blair” Irvine, and will be lovingly remembered for her generous heart, independent spirit, and the countless ways she made life more meaningful for those around her.
Sharron is survived by her loving mother, Alma May (Walker) Irvine; her sisters and brothers Catherine (Francis), David (Tammy), Deborah (Tony), Andrew (Roxanne), Joseph, and Lestra (Todd); as well as her many cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, to whom she was a devoted and much-loved aunt and great-aunt.
Sharron was giving by nature. She would do anything for family and friends, and it was never unusual for her to help a total stranger. Her kindness was instinctive, her compassion sincere, and her presence comforting. She had many jobs over the years, including work at Electric Porcelain and Colonial Cookies, but what she loved most was being an entrepreneur. She had a remarkable talent for thrifting her way to success, seeing value and possibility where others might not. Truly, Sharron knew something about everything.
Anyone who knew her could recall a moment when she made something extra special by taking the time to make someone feel cared for, by offering help without being asked, or by finding the perfect gift someone didn’t even know they needed.
Strong, independent, witty, and endlessly capable, Sharron was wonderfully handy and could figure out how to do just about anything. She loved thrifting, puzzles, and learning, and she never let new technology stand in her way—she simply found a way to master it.
Sharron adored her dogs deeply, the Lickies, who brought her great comfort and joy. Within her family, she was lovingly known as a Cutie Pie, a name that perfectly captured her warmth and charm. And though born in Glace Bay, she always carried the unmistakable spirit of a New Waterford girl.
Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and personal care workers from Ontario Health at Home, Hospice Waterloo and Promyse.
A celebration of life will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Sharron would greatly appreciate donations made in her memory to the Grand River Cancer Centre (Waterloo Region Health Network) or Hospice of Waterloo Region.
Sharron will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, but her kindness, humour, and love will live on in the many lives she touched. She will be forever cherished and remembered always with love.
