Obituary of Janet Anne Wilson

Janet passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Chartwell Terrace on the Square on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the age of 85.

Janet was a devoted mother to Martha (Glenn Archer), Timothy (Jackie), and Mary (Jason Watkins). Proud Nana to her five grandchildren: Kate, John, Lauren, Nathan, and Chloe.

She is also survived by her siblings: John of Waterloo, Elizabeth of Almonte, and Philip of Lennoxville.

Janet is now reunited with her loving late husband, James Cooper Wilson (2008), and her parents, Denzil and Dorothy Taylor.

Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Janet spent her early days living in East Angus, Red Rock, and Lennoxville. She went to high school at King’s Hall in Compton, Quebec, and spent time in France afterwards. She then lived in Montreal where she met her beloved husband. Eventually they moved to Waterloo to raise their three children.

For more than 45 years Janet loved spending time at the Farm with her family and tending to her beautiful gardens. She was always up for a car trip, loved antiquing, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling. She also volunteered at various organizations throughout her life, including teaching ESL and preparing meals for the homeless at Out of the Cold.

In keeping with her wishes, Janet will be laid to rest during a private graveside service at Parkview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family or donations to Kitchener-Waterloo Out of the Cold (via Services and Housing in the Province, or SHIP) may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home at 519-745-8445 or at www.erbgood.com.
