Obituary of Patricia Jeanette Ellis

October 4, 1929 – January 17, 2026

Patricia Jeanette Ellis passed peacefully at WRHN Chicopee Hospital on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

She is survived by daughters Gail Ellis, sons Peter Ellis and Andrew Creighton, Wendy Ritzer, daughters Stacey Koch (Jeremey) and Kimberly Ritzer (Taylor Moffitt), Judy Sams (Ralph), daughter Jennifer Sams Scott (Matt), Jill Brewer (Tom), daughter Dana Kendall (Matt) and sons Kyle Brewer (Patti), Jamie Brewer (Laura) and 6 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband, George Ellis (1998) and her son-in-law, Jim Ritzer (2022).

Patricia had a successful career at the University of Waterloo in the School of Optometry. After moving to Waterloo, she and George joined the Glenbriar Curling Club and later became members of Westmount Golf and Country Club, where they enjoyed curling and golf with family and friends.

In retirement, Patricia enjoyed knitting, creating countless pieces for her family and friends. She especially enjoyed card games with loved ones, passing this tradition to her children and grandchildren, and spending her winters in Sarasota, Florida.

The family would like to thank the PSW workers from Paramed and Patricia’s neighbours for their care and support, which helped her enjoy her final days at home.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Louis Roman Catholic Church may be arranged through the funeral home at 519-745-8445 or online at www.erbgood.com.
