Thank you so much for this heartfelt service. It brought back a lot of my own memories of my grandmother. Eating her delicious ribs, her teaching me proper table etiquette, making fun of my father Don together or playing cards at the lake late at night. But also, remembering what clothes she felt good in, getting shown all the best spots around Kitchener to buy the best bread she liked (and her excitement to finally get home and dig in) and hearing what she was looking forward to in the next months. It was an honor to be her grandson and I always felt listend to and supported, both when I was proud of myself, but also when I was feeling down. She was not there with her words like others, instead by making the time and space to let me talk and explain.
With all the love from Switzerland
Thank you Grandma and may you rest in peace.

Always remember the good times we had at the cottage - sharing a glass of white wine or beer with Ruth and Ken at the dock as the sun dipped down - chatting about life, the world and all its little wonders. They never forgot any of my birthdays and always made the effort to call me in Switzerland. Every time they called, Ken would say, ' Is this the birthday girl? and Ruth would follow with a laugh straight from her heart.

Dear Doug, Don & families
With sadness we learned of the death of your mother/grandmother Ruth, a lady with an indomitable spirit whose strength and love will continue to sustain you as she rejoins Ken for eternity.
It was a privilege to share a neighbourhood with them for so many years.
We will remember Ruth and all of you as you celebrate her.

My Aunt Ruth was a true gentle woman who was intelligent, thoughtful, and kind. She was a good listener, always more interested in hearing about other peoples’ lives and travels than talking about herself. She was fun at family gatherings, ready with a laugh, and she thoroughly enjoyed socializing and discussing the world with friends and family alike. She worked hard for her family, supporting Ken and the boys’ pursuits, especially sports, and helping to support her widowed mother-in-law. Her visual artistic talents included the creation of a comfortable, tasteful home wherever she was, a stylish fashion sense, and elegant penmanship. And no one could wrap a gift more beautifully than Aunt Ruth. She lived a graceful life. I will miss her.

To the family of Ruth:
Edith and I worked with your mom for many years. It was always nice to see her at the front desk. Just made our day. Will keep you in our prayers.
