Obituary of John Rockel Hinz

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the age of 77.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marion Hinz (nee Musclow), his two loving daughters Jennifer (Chad) and Kelly (Mike), and his grandkids Laura (Shane), Alex, Aidan (Sasha), and Kaelyn. He was predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy Hinz.

John worked at Canada Post for 35 years as a Letter Carrier. He took tremendous pride in all he did and enjoyed the sense of community that his role with Canada Post entailed. John adored his family and took pride in everything they did. He enjoyed his pool, being in outdoor surroundings, hanging out with his treasured dogs, and listening to Bob Seger in his bar room. He was a proud grandfather and “quite a guy.”

Cremation has taken place, and a Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
