Obituary of John Reginald May

John Reginald May, known to family and friends as Reg, beloved husband of Helen May (Ellsworth) and devoted father to Lana and Darrell, passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2026, at the age of 80.

Reg was predeceased by his parents, Lois and Joseph May. He is survived by his loving sisters, Emma and Lorna; his brothers, Bobby, Alban, Howard, Johnny, Joe, and Doug; his children, Lana and Darrell (Monique); and his grandchildren, Claudia, Ashley, Naomi, and Abby.

Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Reg grew up in Tracadie Cross, Prince Edward Island. He later raised his family in Hamilton, Ontario, before eventually retiring in Waterloo, Ontario.

Reg was a quiet and gentle soul, known for his kindness and steady presence. He always made time for his children, whether it was taking Darrell to hockey or Lana to gymnastics, and his love and dedication as a father and husband never went unnoticed.

By profession, Reg was a truck driver, a career he took pride in for many years. After retiring, he found great joy driving a school bus in Waterloo.

He will be remembered with love and deeply missed by all who knew him.

As per Reg’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
