Obituary of Diane Lynne Meitz
Passed away peacefully with her beloved friend Paul by her side.
Dear daughter of Patricia Meitz and sister of Patty (Dave) Gascho, Wayne (Kathy) Meitz and Dennis Meitz. Loving Aunti Di of Jonathan and Becca, Jamie and Shannon, Jenna and Simon, Michael, Adam and Victoria, Joshua and Ashli.
Diane graduated from Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital School of Nursing in 1972. She had a rewarding career working in the ICU, ER, Cardiac Care and Post-op Recovery departments in numerous hospitals.
She loved golfing and camping and enjoyed many adventures with her best friend Ingrid. Diane’s recent trip to Belgium was very memorable to her. She had many stories to share of reconnecting with her European friends.
Some of her favourite places to spend time were her summer homes in Port Severn and Wasaga Beach. One of her favourite pastimes was watching all disciplines of figure skating and going to the rink to see her niece Jenna skate. She loved caring for and rescuing cats anywhere that she lived.
Diane will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her and especially her precious furry companions. We will all remember her joyful, genuine laugh.
Special thanks to 6th Floor Staff at WRHN Midtown and the Palliative Care Unit at WRHN Chicopee, especially Dr. Kim who fulfilled Diane’s final wish.
Cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of Diane’s life at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Remarks to begin at 2:00 pm.
