Obituary of Bruce Shantz

Passed away Tuesday March 3, 2026 at the Alexander Marine & General Hospital in Goderich at the age of 77.

He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Linda Becker, loving father to Jeff and his wife Tracy and cherished grandpa to Riley and Ella. Brother to Debra Taylor, Barry Shantz and uncle to Shelly, Vicki, Rick, David, Paula and Mark.

He was predeceased by his son Michael, parents Merle and Hilda Shantz, sister Judy (Norm) Homanchuk and his nephew Randy Homanchuk. 

Bruce lived a full and active life. He enjoyed playing many sports throughout the years, including fastball, hockey, bowling and golf. An electrician by trade, Bruce later transitioned into a successful career as a financial adviser. He enjoyed volunteering throughout the community and daily walks with his loyal companion Beau on the trails where he engaged in many conversations.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate healthcare team at the Goderich Hospital for their care and support.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held at a later date.
