Obituary of Marion Elaine Lemarcotte (nee Peddle)

Marion Elaine Lemarcotte (nee Peddle) passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 92 on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in Waterloo, Ontario

She is survived by her children Cindy Huffels (Ted); Rick Beresford (Tracy); Dan Beresford; Rosalind Beresford Keith; Lorraine Gillion (Gary); and John Beresford; stepson Claude Lemarcotte; her many grandchildren and step-grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Elaine is predeceased by husband Camille, daughter-in-law Lynn (Dan); son James (Jim) Beresford; as well as her parents Henry and Elizabeth Peddle and all her siblings

Born in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, before it became a province of Canada, she often joked that she was not a Canadian citizen. She had a variety of careers including time in the military as a medic, teaching, retail management, cook and housekeeper.

Special thanks to the staff in Schneider House at Columbia Forest Long-Term Care Home for their care and support. Special mention of thanks as well to all the various staff who cared for mom at St. Mary’s Hospital during her many hospitalizations throughout the last 12 years. Despite her many serious illnesses she always had a laugh and a joke for the staff who cared for her. 

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.
