With great sadness we announce that Sandra (Sandy) Nay passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2026, at the age of 62.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Robert (Bob) Nay and Hilda Nay (Dreher), and her loving fiancé Shawn O’Malley. Sandy will be deeply missed by her brothers, Robert Jr. (Corina) and John (Shari), as well as her cherished nieces and nephews, Kaitlin Wortley (Matt), John Jr. Nay (Shay), and Jasmine Nay. She was a proud and devoted great-aunt to Addison, Reilly, and Elin Wortley.
Born and raised in Waterloo, Sandy recently moved to Kingsbridge, Ontario to enjoy her retirement on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron. Throughout her life, her career as a very successful Marketing Executive took her all around the world, to Ottawa, St. Louis, Arkansas, Connecticut and Milton. Her drive and work ethic were unmatched, a true professional and role model. Sandy broke many glass ceilings and was a trailblazer for women in her field, an inspiration to all. Sandy formed lasting friendships across the world wherever she went.
Sandy had a deep love for the outdoors and embraced life with adventure and enthusiasm. She found joy in kayaking, cycling, hiking, golfing, skiing, snowshoeing, and camping. She was very involved in many of these local outdoor communities, as a mentor, planner, and often a board member. Her love for the outdoors took her to many destinations around the world. Her vibrant spirit and love for nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Family meant everything to Sandy. She was an integral part of her nieces’ and nephews’ lives—a constant source of love, kindness, and support. She was always just a phone call away, offering encouragement, laughter, and care whenever it was needed.
Sandy was also a devoted animal lover throughout her life to her many adored cats, but especially to her beloved furry companion Cooper, who was always by her side. Their bond was truly inseparable.
She touched the lives of many in every community she was part of and will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit.
Sandy will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
