Obituary of Hovsap Dekermejian

In loving memory of Hovsap Dekermejian who passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on March 21, 2026, at the age of 70.

Hovsap is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Dekermejian.

He is remembered by his children; Daniel (Hamist), Viken (Varduhi), Sylvia and Tavit.

Proud grandfather of Hovsap, Gabriel, Serena, Milla, Izabelle, Neveah, Ruben and Tigran.

Hovsap was born in Aleppo Syria on April 8, 1955, to Taniel and Marie Dekermejian. As a teen he moved to Beirut Lebanon where he met his wife, Mary. They were married on June 19, 1977, and enjoyed 41 years of life and marriage together. They had 2 boys, Daniel and Viken in Lebanon. Then moving to Canada in 1981, they proceeded to have 2 more children, Sylvia and Tavit. Hovsap was a hard-working mechanic who loved food, parties and gatherings and being with his family and friends. He was a humble, friendly and generous man who always wanted to live life to the fullest and that he did.

A funeral service will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Tuesday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery in Waterloo.
