Obituary of Armin-Kurt Korsch

Peacefully went to be with his Saviour on March 24, 2026 at Freeport Hospice, Kitchener in his 84^th year. 

Loving husband of Suzanne (née Watson) for 58 years.  Devoted father of Gillian Little (Shawn) and Rev. Robin Korsch (Tara).  Cherished Opa of Ryan, Jenna, Kate, Karen, Joshua and Matthew.  Survived by his sister-in-law Pat Irwin (David) and brother-in-law Ian Watson (Sheron).

Born to his parents, Richard Korsch and Gerda (née Baar) on September 14, 1942 in Berlin, Germany. 

Armin was a dedicated employee of Kaufman Footwear and finished his tenure of 33 years as Senior Purchaser.  He was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church and in later years Grace Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed a variety of sports, especially badminton and table tennis, as well as activities through Breithaupt Seniors’ Centre. 

Armin’s greatest joy came from the simple, meaningful moments spent with his family especially his beloved grandchildren.  He loved to gather around the table playing games, having coffee and cake on one of his many travels with Suzanne, tending to his beautiful garden and enjoying special moments in Hope Bay. 

His passion for life extended onto the soccer field, where his talent led him to play in the 2^nd German Division for SV Arminia Hannover from 1960 through 1963, an accomplishment he carried with quiet pride throughout his life.

He will be dearly missed by family and friends. 

Memorial visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 136 Margaret Ave., Kitchener on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. James Keller officiating.  Luncheon to follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.  Private family interment will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener at a later date.
