Mabel Sophia Finch (Sherrer)

December 27, 1918 - March 29, 2026

Mabel passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the age of 107.

Survived by special daughter, Marybeth Phillips and husband Bob, by daughters-in-law, Gail and Brenda.

Predeceased by loving husband, Herbert and by treasured sons, James and Robert as well as granddaughter Megan.

Dear Granny of Tanya McIntee (Murray), Andrew Finch (Holly), Natalie Ferrier (Rory), Leigh-Anne Finch (Steve), Amanda Sandor (Tamas), Becky Finch (Ryan), and Kathryn Phillips.

Special Great Granny to Jason (Shelby) and Alison (Shane) McIntee, Brooke Ferrier and Peyton Ferrier, and James Shantz and Lennon Shantz.

Sister of Joseph (1944); Marcia (1997); Alfred (1946); Irene Runstedler; Lucy Baker (2023); Mary Runstedler (2021); Bill (2002); Richard; Margaret Willock (1993); Leonard (2025); Bernice (1998); Jerome; and John (2021).

Mabel was an active CWL member for 90 years, giving her an opportunity to model prayer in action. She also spent her working years at Electrohome fueling the war effort, and at the University of Waterloo Co-op Office.

We are so truly blessed to witness Mabel’s extraordinary life, and we strive to live out her example each day. 

You are invited to join her Funeral Mass at St Michael Roman Catholic Church, 80 University Ave W, Waterloo on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., with Fellowship directly following in the Parish Hall. Interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery.
