Obituary of C. Michael Ennis
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of C. Michael Ennis, who died peacefully surrounded by family on April 1, 2026, at the age of 87. Mike lived a full and meaningful life, dedicated to both his family and professional career. He will be remembered as a true gentleman; who was exceptionally kind, generous, and willing to lend a hand to those in need.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Patrica; his brother, Richard; and his children, Steve (Debbie), Kathy and Richard (Kristin) and pre-deceased daughter Julia. He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Jessica (Jordan Peever), Kyle (Victoria Martin Pognante), Julia (Daniel Butler), Michael, Nicole and Anna Kate. He was also a beloved great-grandfather to Cooper, Jalen, Romi, Brody, Aria, and Tyler.
Mike is predeceased by sister Julie (dec. Doug Atthill) and brother Robert.
He is dearly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law’s; Dec. Donald (Louann) Miller, Marilyn (dec. John) Foster, Anne (dec. Don) Brubacher, Angela (Paul) Beckner, Joe (Marjorie) Miller, Liz (dec. John) Harder, and his many cherished nieces and nephews.
Mike’s career began at the Bank of Nova Scotia. He then transitioned to Electrohome, before spending the vast majority and remainder of his successful career with Nortel. At Nortel he retired as the President of American Cellular in Texas.
Upon retirement, Mike found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He appreciated spending summers at the cottage with family and friends, fishing, and watching Blue Jays games. Winters were spilt between his son’s house in Kiawah, South Carolina and Naples, Florida.

Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 2-4 and 6 – 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial to take place at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, 53 Allen Street East, Waterloo on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery.
