Obituary of James Huxted

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at WRHN at Midtown, Kitchener, surrounded by his loving family. Jim is survived by his devoted wife Sandra; his children Dwayne (Randy), Cheryl, Deb, and Kim (Pete); his cherished grandchildren Colin, Shawna (Shawn), Erin (Stephen), Alicia (Martin), Ian, Jessica (Tommy), Scott (Leanne) and Mathew; his sisters Marilyn (Tony) and Beverly. And his two great-granddaughters, Kayleigh and Olivia. He was predeceased by his beloved son Scott, his sister Sharon, and his parents Annie and Albert.

Jim will be remembered first and foremost as a devoted family man. His love was steady, dependable, and deeply felt. He showed up when it mattered, offering quiet strength, guidance, and support. He dedicated more than 30 years to Dutch Boy, where he built lasting friendships and took pride in his work, but his greatest pride was always his family. He valued life’s simple pleasures — time with Sandra, moments with his children and grandchildren, and gathering with those he loved. Though he never sought attention, his kindness and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at WRHN at Midtown for their care and support. A celebration of life will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home’s Fireside Reception Room, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with remarks at 2:30 p.m. guests are welcome at this time to speak or share any memories.
