Obituary of Ida Amelia Krieger Fowler
Passed away peacefully at Innisfree House on April 14, 2026, at the age of 102.
Survived by cousins Carolyn Israel (Carl) and Archie Israel (Patricia, dec.), niece Janet Publicover (Glenn, dec.), nephew Curtis Krieger (Marci), and seven great-nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Earle Fowler, her parents Herbert and Elizabeth (Hallman), brothers Donald (Helen), Archibald (Almeda), Hubert (infancy), sister Audrey (infancy), nephews Miln Krieger, and great-nephew Cole Bey.
Born April 4, 1924, on the family farm in Shantz Station (Breslau area), Ida came to Kitchener at the age of 15 and worked at Smiles and Chuckles Chocolate Factory for 17 years. She started work at 14 cents an hour and worked 10 to 12 hours a day at Christmas and Easter. She then worked retail at Kabels Clothing, the English shop, for 19 years.
Ida was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Kitchener.
Ida was forever grateful for the support and devotion her niece Janet showed her over the years and for the support of her cousins Kim Albright, Linda Albright Thiel, and friends Dawn Solomon and Marie Voison.
Cremation has taken place. Private interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Per Ida’s wishes, there will be no service, so please celebrate her life in spirit by reflecting on the wonderful memories you shared with her.
