Paul Guild passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at the age of 80.
He is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Inta; his children, Emma (Naseem) and Jesse (Philna); and his dear grandchildren, Audrey, Millie, Alexander, and Eden. He was a beloved uncle to Paul and Catherine, Adrianne and Russ, Marty and Jenny and brother-in-law to Gerda and Ian. He was predeceased by his sisters, Eleanor and Nancy.
Paul was a professor at the University of Waterloo since 1990. He was widely respected for his contributions to research in innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer, and was a dedicated mentor who formed lasting bonds with his students.
He will be remembered as kind, thoughtful, and gracious, with a deep commitment to the well-being of others. He loved his family and friends and took great joy in time spent together—whether spending weekends with his grandchildren, watching “footy”, or restoring his Morgan.
Paul’s legacy is one of kindness, curiosity, and dedication to learning, and he will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 2 p.m.
