Obituary of Marion Patricia Ludwig
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St. Mary's Hospital on April 28, 2026, at the age of 92.
She will be dearly missed by her children Cathy (Rick), Tom (Karen), Patty (Tony), Sandy (Rick), and Penny (Gord); her grandchildren Nicole (Chris), Chad (Natalia), Sarah (James), Jenni (Milan), Jamie (Carlee), Katie (Bart), Haley (Mike), and Sammy; and her ten great-grandchildren, Abby, Jacob, Oliver, Olivia, Lily, James, Benjamin, Anika, Russell, and Landen.
Predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 2000, her parents Harry and Mary Woods (nee Nichols), and her younger brother Tommy (in infancy).
Marion was a woman of many interests. She was an avid card player, and enjoyed watching sports, particularly golf and hockey. She tuned in to CNN every day and would often record episodes of her favourite soap operas. Her beloved toy poodle, Henry, was her close companion, and Nicholas’s dogs Chip and Dale quickly stole her heart.
Marion also loved gardening. She had a particular love for roses, and her favourite Japanese weeping cherry tree.
Nicholas was her whole life until his passing day, and she has missed him dearly every day since. They loved travelling to Florida together and enjoyed many trips to Sauble Beach. Above all, they were overjoyed to watch their family grow with the arrival of each new grandchild and great-grandchild. They hosted many backyard BBQs and set magical Christmas traditions together that will never be forgotten.
Special thanks to the medical staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their compassionate care of Marion in her final days. The family is deeply grateful to Marion’s grandson Chad and his wife Natalia for the guidance they provided in navigating Marion’s final days. Her passing was peaceful because of their care and support.
