Obituary of Gregory Michael Earle
It is often said that a man is only as good as his word, and if that is the case, Gregory Michael Earle was among the finest. A hard-working business owner, responsible, honest and a protector by nature, he passed away on April 30, 2026. He is survived by Jolanta, his wife; Jade and Marta (Tomislav), his daughters; Veronika and Milena, his granddaughters; and his brother David with his family, who will forever remember the sound of his steady gait and the comfort of his quiet, calm demeanor.
Greg was a man who made a good impression on anyone he met, despite his impressive size. He understood the weight of a heavy load and the patience required to build something meant to last. He brought that same "blue-collar" stoicism to every part of his life. He didn't believe in shortcuts, and he certainly didn't believe in sugar-coating the truth. He was a realist who saw the world for exactly what it was; if you asked for his opinion, you got it straight - honest to a fault, but always rooted in a deep sense of loyalty to those he loved.
As a provider and protector, he was the bedrock of his family. He took great pride in being the "strong and steady" one, the man who stayed calm when the pressure mounted and the world grew loud. While he was admittedly set in his ways, those ways were built on a foundation of reliability and quiet service. He didn't need to raise his voice to be heard; his presence alone was a comfort, and his patience with others was a testament to his inner strength.
He found his greatest pleasures in the simple things: the satisfaction of a job well done, playing darts and cards with his long-time friends, and the knowledge that his family was safe and provided for. He never felt the need to be anything other than exactly who he was—a man of his word, a craftsman of character, and a fierce defender of his own.
He lived his life like a well-built wall: true, level, and built to stand the test of time. He has put down his tools, his work here is finished, and his foundation remains.
Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 6 – 7 p.m. Funeral service to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 7 p.m.
