Obituary of Marie Margaret Levesque
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Margaret Levesque (nee Heinbuch), aged 98 years, on Monday, May 4, 2026, in Kitchener, ON. Marie is survived by her beloved children John (Elaine), Janice, Joel (Laurie) and Jerry (Liz). Loving grandmother of Breanne, Karlee, Lauren, Joel, Alex, Audrey, Kate, and Nicole. Dear sister of Betty Ann Culver, sister-in-law Evelyn Salatino (and the late Louis, “Salty”) and brother-in-law Leo Levesque (Stella). She is predeceased by her loving husband Maurice Levesque (2025), parents Fred and Eleanora Heinbuch (nee Abbott), her sisters Eileen Stock (and the late Joe), Olive Flick (and the late Bill), Doreen Hurley (and the late Harold, “Boat”), Geraldine Merkel (and the late Arnold), brother Kenneth Heinbuch, sister-in-law Margaret Bradley (and the late Bart), and her nephews Philip Levesque (Brenda), and JP Levesque (Colleen).
Marie was born in Stratford, Ontario, where she spent much of her youth. Upon graduating from the Loretto Academy, she aspired to pursue a career in nursing. She moved to Kitchener and trained at St. Mary’s Hospital from where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1949. Marie had a passion and love of nursing. She was well respected for her standard of care and compassion as a nurse in the K-W and Cambridge communities. In addition to nursing, she was an active member of the KW Nursing Registry Executive, representing her nursing colleagues with respect and professionalism. Marie was faithful to her profession and patients for 75 years.
Upon coming to Kitchener, Marie met the love of her life, Maurice, to whom she was a caring and devoted wife for 72 years. She was also a proud and loving mother to her 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Marie loved nothing more than spending time with people and being social with her family, extended family, and friends. The cottage at Barrow Bay was a special place where she spent much cherished time gardening, sipping morning coffee on the deck, gathering with family and friends, celebrating special occasions, spending relaxing times with Maurice, and enjoying her grandchildren.
The family would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to the staff at Winston Park for the excellent care given to Marie during her time there.
Cremation has taken place.
