It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucille on Saturday, May 16, 2026. She was a remarkably kind, caring and loving person whose warm heart drew people to her wherever she went.
Lucille will now be with those who predeceased her: loving husband, Larry (2004), parents Len and Eleanor Schoch; siblings Helen (Doug Turner), Gladys (Fred Jurchuk), and Jim (Anita) Schoch; and great nephew, David Thorburn.
Lucille started working at the Kitchener Public Utilities at the age of 16 (1958) until her retirement after 41 years (1999). Lucille worked for a short time at Sobeys as a cashier.
Lucille was happiest when doing the things she loved – listening to Elvis, solving the daily puzzles in the newspaper, trying her luck at the casino or playing her favourite scratch cards. Her true joy was being around family gatherings, especially when playing cards. But above all, it was Lucille’s infectious laugh that brought joy to all those around her.
Lucille will be fondly remembered by Victoria (Vicki) and Deanna Wood, many nieces and nephews and their extended families, and her long-time neighbours and friends.
Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin in the funeral home’s chapel at 3:30 p.m. A private family interment at Memory Gardens will take place at a later date.
A livestream and recording of the funeral service will be available on Lucille’s tribute page at www.erbgood.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Forest Hill United Church or a charity of your choice may be arranged through the funeral home at 519-745-8445 or at www.erbgood.com.
