Obituary of Sandra Ann Wassing

June 4, 1957 – May 12, 2026

Sandra Wassing (nee Bach), formerly Sandra Zielke passed away at Forest Heights Long-Term Care Home on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the age of 68. 

Predeceased by her husband, John Wassing. Daughter of the late Carl & Lois (Easterbrook) Bach, sister of Andrew and the late Ronald and Robert Bach. 

Mother of Jamie Zielke (Sonia) and Kimberly Schlueter (Jeremy), step-mother of Laura Gingrich (Jason) and Rob Wassing (Melissa). Grandmother of Christina, Catherine, Benjamin, Thomas, Isabella and Joshua. Step-grandmother of Kalliope, Carmendi and Ariel.

Sandra was fiercely loyal and was willing to do anything for family. She loved bingo, and was quite spirited… Just ask anyone who was on her bad side. Sandra was dealt a bad hand, developing dementia at an early age, but somehow defied the odds, surviving for many years.

Cremation has taken place. A public graveside ceremony will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, 5025 Ament Line, Linwood, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 4:00 pm.

There will be a private celebration of life for family at a later date.
