Doris will always have a place in my heart. As a young single parent in 1977, Doris provided invaluable insight, guidance, advice and encouragement which help guide me through all stages of parenthood.
I regret not finding her, as I did search throughout the decades, to thank her as I credit her with my ability to overcome life’s challenges.
She will forever be in my heart.

Doris came into my life at a very critical time. She very gently and compassionately helped direct me to a decision that changed my world in a very blessed way. I will always hold Doris with great respect in my heart the rest of my days. She was one of a kind. I will always remember her fondly.

Doris and I met once, briefly, as she introduced herself to me at a tribute for my sister, Stephanie Butler. That one brief encounter, somehow, very mysteriously led to many years of email exchanges that were essentially designed to bring levity, amusement, into each other’s life. We did not discuss matters much beyond these exchanges. Doris’ love for life, family, and the world around her prevailed through all these exchanges. As I havre read through her many accomplishments and life achievements, none of which she ever would mention in our exchanges, my admiration for her soars. A life truly well lived. May she rest well. When I think of true examples of people who lived their faith, I think of Doris. I have stories of so many times that Doris shared her love with my family. But, perhaps the clear wisdom of a child shall tell it best. When our daughter was just a wee little girl, we put an angel on top of our Christmas tree. She asked us what the angel's name was. We told her she could give it a name. She said, "I'll call her Doris; like the lady who always is so nice and acts like an angel.".
