Obituary of Frances Beatrice DeFrancesco

June 23, 1939 – May 22, 2026

Passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026 at the age of 86.

Cherished mother of David (Heather), Teresa (Joseph), and Donald. Loving grandma of Chantal, Kristen, Jacob, Nicholas, Olivia, Jonathan, Joshua, Andrew, Shara, Justin, Emma, Lili, and Sabrina. Dear sister of Mary, Kathleen (Claude), Irene, and Raymond, and she will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.  

Predeceased by her husband Consilio “Cony” DeFrancesco, and her parents Helen and Lloyd Wendell.

Frances was a longtime and faithful member of St. Anthony Daniel RC Church. Together with Cony, she contributed to the creation and growth of the Italian Cortina Club, including the weekly “famous” lunches, many social events, and the Ladies Auxiliary cookbook. Her grandchildren will forever remember grandma’s famous “meatballs” and the personalized afghans that she made sure everyone she knew received. When we think of Frances, the first thing that comes to mind is her generous heart. She had a rare, helpful nature that touched people everywhere she went. She left this world a brighter place. Every single day, Frances would pray the rosary for everyone she loved, because helping others was simply who she was.

Frances’ family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and volunteers at WRHN – Chicopee (Freeport Hospital) Palliative Care Unit.  

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony Daniel RC Church, 29 Midland Drive, Kitchener, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery.
