Passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Waterloo Regional Health Network – Chicopee, Kitchener (formerly Freeport Hospital), two days short of her 95th birthday.

Beloved wife of the late Burton Huehn (2018). Loving mother of Jennifer Keeley. Cherished grandmother of Dylan and Stephanie (Jordan). Survived by her brother Bill and his wife Marilyn Martin. Also survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Huehn. Ruth was predeceased by her sons, Brent and Scott. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eunice (nee Carthy) and William Martin.

Ruth was a devoted and active member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Waterloo for many years. Through her church community, she participated in social groups, faithfully served on the funeral committee, and was a proud member of the quilters' guild and shuffleboard groups. Her kindness, dedication, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Ruth enjoyed an active lifestyle and participated in aquafit classes right up to the age of 94. In her younger years, Ruth began her working career at Merchants Rubber in Kitchener. She later joined Klassen Bronze in New Hamburg, where she worked for more than 18 years before retiring. She took pride in her work and valued the friendships she made throughout her career.

Ruth will be remembered for her strength, independence, faith, and devotion to her family. She leaves behind many cherished memories that will continue to bring comfort to those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will take place at the Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 29 Westmount Rd S, Waterloo, on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The funeral service will follow the visitation in the church sanctuary on Thursday, June 4th at  12 noon, with Rev. Dr. Philip Mathai officiating.  A reception to immediately follow the service in the church hall. Interment at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener.
