Obituary of Sheldon Oswald

OSWALD, Sheldon Hubert
August 5th, 1954 – May 18th, 2026

Passed away suddenly while riding his bike on May 18th.

Survived by sisters Nelda Rose Webb, and Eileen Margaret McCathie, as well as his many loving nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents Mary and Elden Oswald, oldest brother Edward Oswald, youngest sister Brenda Hofner and nephew Ian McCathie.

Although Sheldon sustained a serious brain injury at the age of 3, he was well known throughout the community and had a passion for all things mechanical and sci-fi. He would regularly fix bikes for the neighbours just as easily as he could fix their stereos or their fans as well as many other things. He also had a passion for music and had a great collection of synthesizers and Legos. He was a beloved social butterfly and will not soon be forgotten. Special thanks to brother-in-law Tim Webb as well as sister Nelda, who would take him shopping and help him live life as independently as he could.

Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 9.p.m. Private family interment to take place at a later date.
