Obituary of Betty Irene Vickers-Reid

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Hospice Waterloo on Saturday, June 27, 2026, late in her 100th year. She is now reunited with her husband of 33 years, Bill Vickers; her second husband Bill Reid; and her eldest son, Bill Jr.

She will be dearly missed by her sons Neil (Deborah) and Eric (Jo-Ann); her grandchildren Erin (Michael), Emily (Peter), Sarah (dec.), Matthew (dec.), Michael (Shannelle), Christopher, and Kevin (Lillian); and her great-grandchildren Max, Callum, Sullivan, Phoebe, Molly, and Eloise. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law Douglas Devlin (Shirley, dec.); her nephew John (Marc), and her niece Donna (Trevor).

Betty was a wonderfully social person and liked to be involved with everything she could in her community. She was a lifelong and devout churchgoer, most recently as an actively involved member of First United Church in Waterloo for over 20 years. Betty was an accomplished painter and artist and enjoyed pursuing many interests and hobbies. She was truly a friend to all. Betty’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the brightest lights of her life, and she was delighted to watch them grow.

Betty’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Chartwell Terrace on the Square and Hospice Waterloo for their excellent and compassionate care of Betty in her final days.

A celebration of Betty’s life will take place at Chartwell Terrace on the Square, 100 Caroline St. S, Waterloo, on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Betty’s tribute page at www.erbgood.com will be updated with further details.
