The Ballantyne Cup Group enjoyed curling. Players and arenas changed over the years. Blake and Barbara were latecomers to the group and to curling.
Bill enjoyed playing well. He often skipped and was so positive even when a team member threw a rock that didn't make it across the hog line. SKILL AND TOLERANCE DON'T ALWAYS GO TOGETHER. Bill had a high level of both.
B&B played only a few years before realizing socializing was easier than curling. Some curlers, developing aches and pains, joined us to eat and drink. In later years The Cup was retired but the good times continued. At every gathering we enjoyed good food, good conversation and good fun.
Bill and Marion are standing in the back row. Nice sweater Bill!

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Dr. Marr. I really enjoyed meeting and speaking with him at Isabella's convocation. It was clear how much he loved and how proud he was of your whole family. It was such a special day to witness. I hope the photos and the article linked below help preserve some of those joyful memories for years to come. Please know that I am thinking of you all during this difficult time and sending my heartfelt condolences.

My Dad was one of my favourite people. I remember when he told me he wasn't sure I could do Economics. I wasn't logical enough. But I persevered and did do two years of Economics at WLU, with my Dad as my personal tutor. It was always so special to have him on campus when I was a student at Laurier.
He has always been one of the best Grandpas. With my kids and my niece and nephew. There wasn't a game he didn't want to play. He would be down on the floor with the grandkids. They were the focus. Not any other adult - the kids. And he could beat the pants off of all of us in games. We all loved playing games with him, at home or at the farm or at a cottage.
I am heart-broken to lose him. We will go on, but we are missing him so dearly. I kept expecting him to walk through the door at my parent's house.
Thank you to all who write a tribute to him. The family really appreciates the support and love.
