Vic passed away on July 2, 2026, at WRHN @ Queen's Blvd., Kitchener, at the age of 88.

Vic will be lovingly remembered by his nieces Jennifer Dy Bajao of the Philippines, Can Zhen-Ru of Taiwan, Zhang Ya Xuan of China, and his nephew Kim Beyaoju, his wife Diane and their children Andrea and Austin, of California. He will also be fondly remembered by his "second family": Iris Stockler, her husband Hans, and mother Anna Wedermann of Innsbruck, Austria, and Chris Wedermann, his wife Christina and their children, Alexander, Kathrina and Nathalie, of London, Ontario.

Family was very important to Vic but so was the community of friends he built during his nearly six decades in Kitchener-Waterloo. Those friendships became an important part of his life, especially during his later years and he treasured them deeply.

Vic was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, one brother and three sisters.

Born in the Philippines, Vic came to Canada in 1968 to study actuarial science at the University of Manitoba. After graduation, he accepted a position as an actuarial student with Mutual Life of Canada in Waterloo. Although he qualified as an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, he soon discovered that his true calling lay elsewhere. He found it as a Wellness Consultant at Mutual Life, a role he continued through Clarica and Sun Life until late 2025. It was work that suited him perfectly, combining his love of teaching, encouraging others and helping people live healthier, happier lives.

Outside of work—but very much an extension of it—Vic was an early practitioner and teacher of Tai Chi. He became well known throughout the Kitchener-Waterloo community for the classes he led. As technology evolved, so did Vic. His online Tai Chi classes eventually attracted participants from around the world, allowing him to continue sharing his knowledge and encouragement far beyond his local community.

Vic was an encourager by nature. He delighted in making people smile and was rarely without the bright red clown nose he carried in his pocket—a simple trademark that reflected his playful sense of humour and his belief that laughter could brighten anyone's day.

At his core, Vic believed that wellness wasn't just about exercise or healthy living. It was about encouraging others, sharing a laugh, and leaving people feeling better than when he found them. Quietly, one person at a time, he did exactly that.

His nephew Kim captured Vic perfectly:

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with reflections beginning at 2:00 p.m. The reflections will be livestreamed for those unable to attend.
