Obituary of Karolyn Ann Sine
Surrounded by the love of her family, Karolyn passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2026, after a long journey with MS.
She will be remembered for her unforgettable smile, expressive eyes, sense of humour, and above all else, her resilience. Time and again, Karolyn defied the odds in ways that no doctor or medical professional thought possible, always proving stronger than anyone imagined.
Karolyn was a loving mother to her daughters, Sarah (Michael) and Christina (Josh), who were her greatest pride and joy. She faced each new challenge with grace and unwavering resilience, determined to be there for her girls for as long as she could. Watching them grow into remarkable women and celebrating their milestones—from university graduations to the start of their careers and finding loving partners of their own—was one of the greatest gifts of her life.
Karolyn was known for her quick wit and remarkable ability to shift the focus away from herself, using sarcasm and humour to ease the hearts of those around her.
Karolyn's life was filled with adventure. As an athlete, lifeguard, fitness instructor, and cardiac rehabilitation therapist, she embraced every opportunity to live life to the fullest. The "Cameron Twins" were inseparable, along with family and a close circle of friends from St. Mary's High School and the University of Toronto, creating lasting memories at the cottage, during “May 2-4” weekends in Port Elgin, at the Brunswick House, on family vacations to Sanibel, and through countless other adventures filled with laughter and love.
Karolyn was predeceased by her father, Donald, and is survived by her loving mother, Mary, who, at 92, continued to devote herself to caring for Karolyn and her surviving twin sister, Colleen. At home, the three of them never missed a Blue Jays or Raptors game together, and Sundays were for matching shirts.
She will be lovingly remembered by her five other siblings, Ron (Carolyn), Joan (Ted), Brian (Ev), Donna (Mike), and Mark (Colleen), and her 16 nieces and nephews: Anne-Marie, Joanna (Chris), Marc (Danielle), Annie, Rosie, Michael, Josh (Kyra), Jon (Sophia), David, Kaela (Kyle), Kristen, Taryn, Cameron, Katie (Tom), Molly, and Grace, all of whom cherished and supported her over the years.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the many dedicated healthcare professionals who cared for Karolyn throughout her journey. Their compassion, kindness, and steadfast support brought comfort through the years, and many became not only trusted caregivers but cherished friends.
Karolyn touched the lives of everyone she met, and her family takes comfort in knowing that she is at peace. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, strength, and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
