Obituary of Jennifer Eitel
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Jennifer Anne Eitel (Born December 3, 1961), who passed away at home on Monday, July 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 64.
Jennifer was the beloved wife and best friend of Scott Eitel for 43 wonderful years. She was the loving daughter of Edna Byers and the late Robert Byers. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Brenda (Frank), Shelley (Gerhard), and Tom, and by her sisters- and brothers-in-law Shelley (Bruce), Stu (Joni) and Sue (Jon). Jennifer was a devoted and much-loved aunt to Jason, Amberley, Sam, Brandon, Chad, Jessica, Alex, Katie, Elizabeth, and Joe.
Jennifer's warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched the lives of many. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends, neighbours, and former co-workers.
Jennifer dedicated 40 years of service to Sun Life, where she built a respected career as a Senior Medical Underwriter before retiring in 2021. She took great pride in her work and valued the many friendships she made throughout her career. Special thanks to Adam Lind for his financial support and collaboration through the years.
Scott and Jennifer found great joy in exploring new places and spending time in nature. Jennifer loved getting lost in a good book, expressing her creativity through watercolour painting, and writing poetry. She cherished her beloved Border Collies and found comfort, peace, and happiness in music. Jennifer will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and deep appreciation for life's simple beauties.
Scott extends his heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer's sisters, Shelley and Brenda, for their unwavering love, care, and support. They also wish to thank their wonderful neighbours (Marlee and Karen), her home care team (Christine Partridge, Marty Pike and Jo Martin), and the hospice care team (Dr. Cartagena and Dr. Christopher) for their compassion and support.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Jennifer's life will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Jennifer's memory to the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society would be appreciated. Condolences for the family or donations may be arranged through the funeral home by calling 519-745-8445 or by visiting www.erbgood.com.
