Passed away peacefully at AgeCare West Williams on Wednesday August 5, 2026 with family by his side at the age of 90.

Survived by his beloved wife Shirley Kuehl of 16 years. Daughter Thea Trussler. Sister Andrea Smythe and her late husband Don. Stepdaughter Judy Thompson (Warren) and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His life long friend Dennis Harlock and his late wife Maureen.

Predeceased by his loving first wife Carol Trussler of 46 years, stepdaughter Linda Rittinger and her surviving husband Mike.

Dick began his professional career as a pilot at the age of 17 flying sea planes and D3’s. He then became a sales manager at Simplicity, which eventually led him to become a Buyer with Home Hardware, where he worked for more than 25 years. He was passionate about his career and genuinely enjoyed both the people he worked with and the work itself.

Dick contributed to and was an active member of many clubs and organizations throughout his life. He was a longtime member of the 404 Wing Club and cherished the time he spent there with his fellow pilots. He was also a dedicated member of Probus for many years. Dick will be deeply missed by his friends of Bill W. Dick's faith was an important part of his life. He was a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for many years.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at AgeCare West Williams for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Dick.

Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral service to take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday August 13 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room. Private Interment will take place at a future date.
