Obituary of Jeffrey Andrew Sherbourne

Sherbourne, Jeffrey Andrew – Jeff passed away peacefully after a long illness, on Wednesday August 12, 2026 in his 65th year with his wife and daughter by his side. Loving husband of Frances Linseman, together for 45 years, also missed dearly by their daughter Haley Sherbourne (Richard Stirling). He also leaves behind siblings Mary, Sarah, Nicolas, Jonathan, and Simon, along with their families.

Son of Archibald and Jean Sherbourne (both deceased), Jeff travelled the globe with his family in his earlier years living in Trinidad and Tobago, Switzerland, England, and Portugal recounting many memorable adventures. From this grew his exceptional knowledge of history and geography, planes-trains-and-automobiles, and his phenomenal alpine skiing ability.

Jeff worked as a Tool & Die maker for decades before changing pace to be outdoors doing landscaping at his friend’s company. His last career was his own business limo driving patrons to/from the airport, a laid-back choice where he enjoyed the many conversations en-route.

Jeff valued his friendships, formed from his childhood living in Conestogo, his extended family, through work, and his neighbours - he was a loyal friend to all. Jeff had great empathy for war veterans, and would attend yearly cenotaph commemorative services, speaking to veterans afterwards. He was generous lending a helping hand whether it was snow plowing a driveway, or building a deck or fence, as he was a very talented jack-of-all-trades. He organized ski trips, camping, cottaging, canoeing, and entertaining, with some of the best fondue parties ever… anything that involved camaraderie. He enjoyed playing pool, snooker, chess, a good game of rummy, and action/drama movies. Along with spending time at family gatherings, his greatest passion was his music – Rock and the Blues, enjoying many concerts throughout the years. He will also be truly missed by his many friends, brothers & sisters in-law, and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Reception for family and friends will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday August 20, 2026 from 1:00 -4:00 p.m. with a moment of remembrance at 2:00 p.m. for a toast in memory of Jeff. In honour of Jeff’s wishes, cremation will have taken place privately with family.

The family would like to thank the palliative nursing staff and doctors at WRHN-Chicopee for the compassionate care provided to Jeff. They would also like to thank the PSWs from ParaMed who assisted Jeff daily.
