Obituary of Vivian "Sam" Becker

Passed away peacefully at WRHN – Queens Hospital (formerly St. Mary’s Hospital), Kitchener on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the age of 82.

Beloved wife of the late Gerard “Gerry” Becker (2002).  Cherished mother of Kevin Becker.  Will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Evan and Grace Becker.

Predeceased by her parents Gladys and Lorne Pryde.

Remembered by many who visited “Sam’s Bar,” Sam had a special love for her dogs: Sonny, Toby, Samson, Hershey, and Elsie, who were her cherished companions and faithful friends throughout the years. She will be missed by her friends and neighbours. Her presence was  familiar and much-loved part of Dalegrove, and it just won’t be the same without her.

 Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  The funeral service will be held  in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 9:30 a.m., with a reception to immediately follow in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau.
