Gloria Elinor Heimbecker passed away at WRHN at Chicopee on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the age of 96.

Loving wife of Richard Harry Heimbecker (2023). Dear mother of Jennifer Baker (Einar Carlsen), Judy (Roy) Bryan, Brian (Laurie) Heimbecker, David (Elesia) Heimbecker, and Steven (Diana Lang) Heimbecker. Grandmother of 12, great-grandmother of 13.

Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Joan Schnell. Predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Eleanor Rivers.

Gloria was our cherished mom and was an inspiration to our family. Gloria was a career mathematics teacher. She was affectionately called "Mom Heimbecker" by her homeroom classes. She embraced golf and square dancing in her retirement years both at the cottage and in Florida. Gloria, along with her beloved Richard, enjoyed exploring the world via cruising.

Gloria's lifelong passion was music. A member of a choir no matter where she called home, she often was featured as a soloist. A crocheter, a bead artist, Red Hatter, and above all, an inspirational role model to all of us.

At Gloria’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Philip Mathai officiating. A reception to immediately follow the service in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room.  Private family interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
