In Loving Memory of Dad

Michael Marchis

May 7, 1952 – August 28, 2026

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, who passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of August 28, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on May 7, 1952, Dad was a loving father, grandfather, and a very important part of our family. After fighting Parkinson’s disease for a long time with strength and courage, he was able to spend his final moments at home, surrounded by the people who loved him most. His life may have come to an end, but the love he gave, the memories he created, and the mark he left on all of us will never disappear

Dad was the proud father of two children, his son Jason Marchis and his daughter Jennifer Wyrebek

His son Jason is married to Shantel Marchis, and together they have five children: Angel Marchis, Emily Marchis, Ava Marchis, Joseph Marchis, and Jason Jr. Marchis.

His daughter Jennifer is married to Richard Wyrebek, and together they have three sons: Logan, Noah, and Bentley.

Dad was blessed with eight grandchildren, who were such an important part of his life.

His first grandchild, Angel Marchis, holds a very special place in our family as the first grandchild to call him Grandpa. She is now 22 years old, and Dad had the privilege of watching her grow into the young woman she is today. Along with Angel, he was blessed with Emily, Ava, Joseph, Jason Jr., Logan, Noah, and Bentley.

From his oldest grandchild to his youngest, each one brought their own special place in Grandpa’s heart. His grandchildren will carry memories of him with them throughout their lives, and they will always know how much they were loved by their Grandpa.

Dad loved his family deeply, but anyone who knew him also knew how much he loved his sports. He was a proud Toronto Maple Leafs fan and loved cheering for his team. He was also a loyal Toronto Blue Jays fan. Whether watching hockey or baseball, sports were a special part of Dad’s life

and something that brought him happiness.

But more than any game, any team, or any score, his greatest legacy was his family.

There are so many things we will miss about Dad—the sound of his voice, his presence, the conversations, the laughter, and simply knowing that he was there. We will miss the little things that may not have seemed important at the time, but that we now realize meant everything.

A Message From His Son

Dad,

There are things in life that are impossible to put into words, and saying goodbye to you is one of them.

You were my dad, and no matter how old I become, I will always be your son.

I wish I could have one more conversation with you. One more laugh. One more moment sitting beside you. One more chance to tell you how much I love you and how much you mean to me.

I will always carry you with me.

I will carry your memory when I look at my children. I will think of you when I watch the Leafs or the Blue Jays. I will remember the moments we shared, the good times, the difficult times, and everything in between.

I promise you that your grandchildren will know who their Grandpa was. They will hear your name, hear our stories, and know how much you loved them.

Dad, you may no longer be sitting beside us, but you will always have a place at our family table and in our hearts.

I love you, Dad. I always have, and I always will.

Your Family Will Carry You With Us

Dad, you gave us a family that will continue to carry your memory forward.

Your children, Jason and Jennifer, will remember you and carry your love with them.

Your daughter-in-law, Shantel, and your son-in-law, Richard, will continue to be part of the family you loved and helped build.

And your eight grandchildren—Angel, Emily, Ava, Joseph, Jason Jr., Logan, Noah, and Bentley—will carry a piece of you with them wherever life takes them.

Your family will continue to love one another, support one another, and keep your memory alive.

Although our hearts are broken that you are no longer here

we are grateful for every moment we were given with you, especially the comfort of being by your side and surrounding you with love at home.

You fought for so long with strength and courage. Now, Dad, you can finally rest.

No more fighting.

No more pain.

Just peace.

You will never be forgotten.

You will live on in your children, your grandchildren, your family, our stories, our memories, and in the love that will always remain.

Every time the Leafs take the ice, every time the Blue Jays take the field, and every time your family gathers together, there will be a little piece of you with us.

Dad, we love you.

Until we meet again, may you rest peacefully.

Forever our Dad.

Forever Grandpa.

Forever loved.

Forever missed.
