Gary was my Godfather growing up. We had some good times. I recently connected with him at my Grandma's funeral last year. He always made a point of showing up in times like these. Even though he told me he was sick, he still had a smile and a big hug for me. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Take care of each other and God Bless. I smile knowing he is now in heaven with my own Dad and they are old friends reunited. Angela

I first met Gary when I moved to King Street, Waterloo, nine years ago. He sort of came with the apartment as the 'Handy Man'. He did a lot of work to my apartment before I even moved in. Anytime something needed to be repaired, I would call Gary or Pat, and arrangements were made to fix it. Along with all the fixits in the building, Gary and I worked on many of my design projects together over the years, because I had the ideas and he had the tools and know how. I appreciated his patience and willingness to listen to my ideas. I also referred him to a lot of my single girlfriends who were all equally pleased with his workmanship. We referred to ourselves as his harem. He was a kind, trustworthy man, with a wonderful smile and always had a twinkle in his eye. Your harem will miss you Gary!

"God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to me". A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands now rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best."
Patti, Sean, Todd and family: you are in our thoughts and prayers.

An amazing Father and Uncle. A wonderfully kind, strong man with an incredible smile. We'll cherish the old times spent camping and playing baseball and the more recent times where our own children got to appreciate your gentle warmth. We love you and miss you while keeping your memory lit in our hearts and mind.

We would like to offer our most sincere sympathies and deepest condolences to Pat and all of Gary's family at this time of sadness.
We must say good bye to a good friend, an excellent neighbour and a fine human being.
A man who is was always willing to lend a hand, offer a kind word or give a smile and a wave as he walked through the neighbourhood.
Gary always seemed to be busy and on the run, but he also took the time to enjoy life. He often spoke of his vacations, watching his grandson play hockey, golfing and fishing with his sons and the dances he and Pat would attend.
I will miss going to the Kitchener Ranger games with Gary, he sure loved his hockey. Arriving at the auditorium was like walking in with a celebrity he had so many friends.
I never heard Gary speak a disparaging word and was referred to in kind.
You will be missed my friend. Rest in peace.

Gary was named in my mind as the Mayor of Martinglen. I once looked out the window on the worst blizzard of winter only to see Gary snowblowing the massive amounts of snow that had accumulated overnight. My heart warmed as I saw him go onto the next neighbour to do the same. I brought him out a cup of hot tea and he said "kim you shouldnt be out here in this weather, but for this i'm very thankful" lol What a man. Gary will be missed by all his neighbours, Grace and the other Gary and myself especially. A note to Pat... we're here sweetie. Anything at all and you just ask. You have been blessed in this life with true love and a fine man. Some people never get that, but I"m sure glad that you did. WE love you and are praying for your comfort. WE know that Gary knew the Lord because you and Gary epitimize the phrase: Love is a way of life" xoxo
love, kim
