I met Harold when he started coming with Lena over to MCC to pick up comforter tops for her to sew. I am so shocked and sad to hear of their passing. They were both beautiful people and I loved how happy they were together. My thoughts are with you.

My Mom and I were going over to Lena's for our friend Bernie's birthday. When we arrived Lena very coyly said "I have something to tell you, but I am not going to tell you until after dinner." She was beaming and her eyes were twinkling. So after dinner, I could not wait any longer. and I begged Lena to tell us her secret. She looked at us with the look of a school girl and proceed to tell us "I have a boy friend!" Giggling, She told us about Harold and how they had met. Lena said all the ladies at the Super Sixties would be mad because Harold was hers. She went and got a picture of Harold for us to see. I loved his smile. Lena held on to that picture for dear life. I knew they were in love. I could not wait to meet the man who had captured Lena's heart. And when I met Harold, it was obvious why he had done just that.

Harold ,you have been such a wonderful friend. Also a wonderful husband to Lena. She couldn't have chosen better. We are so happy that you found each other the last two years of your life. We know how happy you and Lena were.We miss your phone calls and long talks. You both are in Gods hands now.

Dear Hartwick family: We were shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Harold and Lena. We have fond memories of Harold from Bethel days and after.
