Obituary of Claude Holdenmeyer

HOLDENMEYER, Claude (Klaudius) 1922 - 2013 Claude died peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Waterloo on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the age of 91. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Stephanie (nee Prus) on January 15, 2006. Loving father of Edward and his wife Dorothy. Proud grandfather of Lauren and her husband Ryan Gibson, Paul and his wife Stephanie, and Michael. Great-grandfather of Chris, Claire, and Stella. Sadly missed by his sisters, Helen Ilowski and Stella Draus, both of Kitchener; sisters-in-law, Dolly Prus of Waterloo, Pola Hickman of Milton; and aunt, Michalena Aluskevic of Hamilton. Claude will be remembered by his nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born in Maliniska, Poland, Claude was predeceased by his parents, Bruno and Marie (Psutka) Holdenmeyer. Claude retired from the University of Waterloo as the Animal Care Supervisor after approximately 30 years of service. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Claude during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, July 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St. W., Waterloo on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Monsignor Edward Sheridan as celebrant. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow the interment in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
